TP Tutors are working in partnership with Local Authorities and alternative education providers across the Hexham area to deliver bespoke EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) tuition packages to children and young people who are currently not in mainstream education. We are looking to appoint a fully qualified teacher (QTS required) to provide personalised 1:1 tuition that supports students both academically and emotionally. Learners may have experienced barriers to education due to SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs, and require a flexible and compassionate approach to learning. The Role: Deliver 1:1 tuition in a range of subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Primary curriculum) Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons based on the learner’s abilities and needs Support students who may present with anxiety, low attendance, or social/emotional difficulties Work in settings such as the pupil’s home, libraries, or community venues (always pre-agreed and risk-assessed) Communicate progress and concerns to your TP Tutors consultant and relevant professionals Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and ability to differentiate content Experience working with young people with SEND/SEMH needs or in alternative provision Patience, empathy, and a trauma-informed approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via TP Tutors) Two professional references covering the past 24 months Why Join TP Tutors?
