Job Overview
The Portfolio Allocation & Development team in the National Portfolio Management Office is responsible for delivering the Flood Investment Programme within Flood and Coastal Risk Management. This role supports data-driven decision making to optimise funding allocation and improve outcomes for people and wildlife.
Responsibilities
* Analyse portfolio data from diverse sources to forecast future funding needs.
* Develop engaging charts and visualisations that communicate insights in line with best practice.
* Present evidence and recommendations to assist senior decision makers.
* Collaborate with local teams across the business to ensure data quality and effective data management.
* Contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation and development of the team’s capabilities.
* Handle and process large data sets from various systems.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong analytical skills and experience manipulating, analysing and presenting data using tools such as Microsoft Excel.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Familiarity with SharePoint, document management systems or digital collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, Content Cloud).
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to adapt to tight deadlines and fast‑paced environments.
* Strong IT skills and a keen interest in using technology to improve work efficiency.

* Experience in project management and building relationships across teams.
