Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026.
We are seeking an experienced Lecturer with extensive Acting and Directing abilities to teach a range of performance skills from Level 1 to Level 3. The Performing Arts courses are focused on the development of skills, knowledge and behaviours specifically relevant to industry related career progression and further educational practices.
Responsibilities
* Develop module study guides and/or schemes of work.
* Oversee their delivery.
* Supervise assessment processes and carry out internal verification.
* Liaise with external verifiers/moderators as required.
* Provide pastoral support to students when needed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards it) and be recognised as a good or outstanding teacher.
* Hold a degree (or higher) or relevant professional qualifications in an appropriate subject.
* Possess suitable acting and directing abilities and industry knowledge to effectively teach a range of performance skills from Level 2 to Level 3.
* Experience teaching SEND learners would be beneficial, though not essential.
* Have a thorough understanding of what constitutes excellent evidence‑based teaching, learning and assessment and be a reflective practitioner capable of developing and implementing innovative approaches.
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to equality and diversity, safeguarding, personalised learning and the delivery of educational excellence.
* Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, an online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
