Position Details
* Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
* Location: Exeter
* Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday
* Must be: A driver
* Pay: £80-£90 per day
* Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
About Us
This SEN school provides personalized, bespoke education packages to pupils with Education Health Care Plans who have complex needs not met in other schools. They use a Trauma-Informed approach combined with their SEN expertise to create a supportive learning environment, enabling students to succeed and develop essential life skills. The school is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging space where every student can reach their full potential.
Your Responsibilities
* Providing one-on-one and small group support in various learning activities.
* Assisting with core subjects, community projects, and accompanying students on trips and to appointments.
* Supporting communication development using various strategies and tools.
* Building relationships, managing behavior, and fostering communication within the classroom.
* Promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with students with SEMH is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs.
* Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
* Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
