Job overview We are offering the opportunity for a qualified Psychologist to join our team of Psychologists and psychological practitioners working into Telford Local Authority's Family Safeguarding service. The Family Safeguarding Parent Mental Health Service is delivered by Psychologists employed by Midlands Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (MPFT) and embedded within Telford County Council’s Family Safeguarding Service. The service aims to provide timely mental health assessments, risk evaluations, and evidence-based psychological interventions for parents involved in child protection, who may otherwise struggle to access mental health services. The post involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Children’s Social Workers, Drug and Alcohol Recovery Workers, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, and Strengthening Families. The service focuses on keeping families in Telford together safely, improving health and educational outcomes for children, and reducing physical and emotional harm. This is a varied and dynamic role aimed to meet the mental health needs of parents, and you will be well supported by both the existing psychological practitioners working into Family Safeguarding, and the wider large group of Psychologists and psychological practitioners in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
