The Application Management Engineer role at Zilch is an exciting position that provides plenty of technical challenges, project work and opportunity to represent the ITAM team business‑wide. This role focuses on supporting business applications used internally, finding technical solutions to the problems faced by other teams, especially Service Ops and Finance. You will be working closely on all support aspects, implementation projects, as well as improving customer experience throughout the customer journey. This role also works closely with our internal Automation team building efficient and effective solutions for the rest of the business. The successful candidate will have been in a similar role previously. They will have a tenacious attitude for best practice, have great technical skills, especially with integrations, REST API, workflow management and Service Operation systems such as Intercom. The candidate will also have worked on projects where they needed to take business problems and turn them into technical solutions. They must be organised, know how to motivate, communicate efficiently and be passionate about caring for our customers. Day‑to‑day responsibilities.
Responsibilities
 * Working closely with other teams to understand their application needs, help them select best platforms, provision and support them
 * Be the main point of contact and expertise on business applications used by other teams (including Intercom, Aircall, Assembled and NetSuite), as well as the core Zilch platform
 * Implement agreed solutions including integration to other systems, follow best practices and latest technology (including AI)
 * Responding to incidents affecting our business applications, communicating the impact to internal teams and finding solutions or workarounds
 * Building relationships with our application suppliers, working with them to resolve bugs and request new features
 * Continually improving tooling, practices and knowledge in the Business Applications team, including writing documentation and researching new ideas
 * Working with our data to ensure we store and process information securely and effectively
 * Working in an agile environment on systems which are critical for our customers
 * Assist in ad‑hoc technology support and technology related duties
Qualifications

 * Proven analytical skills and ability to problem solve
 * SQL and/or Python scripting
 * Practical knowledge of business process modelling and workflow
 * Understanding of business applications and processes; proven track record in supporting the business’ usage of those
 * Proven track record of implementing integrated platforms and using APIs
 * Ability to learn new concepts and applications quickly by getting stuck in
 * Proven ability to implement best practice processes and application usage, especially in Service Operations and/or ERP platforms
 * Experience in Intercom Platform (or similar systems)
 * Experience with NetSuite (or similar systems)
 * Experience with Aircall or similar telephony systems
 * Experience supporting AWS systems
 * Experience working within the FinTech industry
 * Datadog or similar platform experience
 * Experience supporting REST integrated systems
 * Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and vice versa
 * Ability to manage their own work pipeline as well as work as a part of a team
 * Strong awareness of data security best practices
 * Great attention to detail and understanding of risk
 * Ability to stay calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
