Role Overview
The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end and year-end reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses, and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner.
* Assisting with payroll preparation and ensuring staff payments are accurate and compliant.
* Reconciling bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card statements.
* Monitoring accounts receivable and chasing outstanding payments where required.
* Supporting month-end processes, including journal postings and reconciliations.
* Assisting with budget monitoring and financial reporting.
* Maintaining organised financial records in line with company policies and audit requirements.
* Responding to finance-related queries from colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
* Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role (preferably within health or social care, though not essential).
* AAT qualification (or working towards) desirable but not essential.
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
