Your New Role…
We are on the lookout for a Sr Director, Legal, Intellectual Property to lead impactful trademark, copyright, and IP policy matters across EMEA. Based in the UK, you will provide essential legal guidance on global trademark portfolios, disputes, enforcement, and copyright issues, while collaborating closely with executive stakeholders and external counsel. This role is pivotal in shaping IP policy across the EMEA region.
Your Role Accountabilities...
* Deliver strategic legal guidance on trademark selection, use, clearance, prosecution, and global portfolio management, including oversight of filings, office actions, and post-registration matters.
* Lead and manage global trademark and copyright disputes, oppositions, cancellations, and infringements.
* Provide subject-matter expertise on trademark and copyright litigation matters.
* Advise on various international production and marketing clearance issues, including freedom of panorama.
* Manage IP Policy issues for the EMEA region, reviewing legislative and regulatory developments, assessing implications for WBD, and liaising with relevant legal and commercial executives.
* Oversee relationships with trade associations on IP Policy issues for the EMEA region, setting MPA EMEA strategy in consultation with the Head of Global IP Policy.
Qualifications & Experience...
* UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister with strong experience in IP law (trademark, brand protection, copyright, and related matters).
* In-depth knowledge of IP policy issues facing the media and entertainment industry.
* Extensive experience counseling clients at all levels, with a proven ability to become a trusted advisor on IP issues.
Working Conditions...
This role is offered as a Hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office work in line with our current company policy. Your Line Manager will discuss and agree on the specifics with you. Please note that WBD reserves the right to adjust this working agreement as necessary for business needs, with reasonable notice.
