The Markets Group covers retail price cap, retail financial resilience regulation, retail consumer standards, wholesale markets, and compliance and enforcement. You will be a competition and regulatory specialist looking to lead a team of analysts to provide analytical input to priority projects across the Markets Group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be part of the leadership of a strategic analytical team in Markets Group, providing analytical input to priority projects.
* Lead priority projects that support the Markets Group. Plan, oversee, and deliver a set of deliverables on time and to a high standard through effective analytical leadership and project management.
* Provide inclusive team leadership and management by supporting and developing team members and demonstrating commitment to Ofgem values.
Key Outputs and Deliverables
Offer expert economic advice to senior leaders, helping shape strategic decisions and ensuring policy proposals are underpinned by high‑quality evidence.
* Adopt best practice in economic and regulatory analysis, encouraging consistent methodologies and high‑quality analytical approaches across projects.
* Coach, mentor and support the development of analysts within the team and wider Markets Group, helping build organisational analytical capability.
* Work collaboratively with policy, legal and operational teams across Ofgem to ensure analysis is joined‑up, accurate and reflective of wider organisational perspectives.
* Contribute to the wider economist profession within Ofgem, supporting professional networks, knowledge‑sharing forums and capability‑building initiatives.
