Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner to join North Tyneside community-based specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). We are looking for a motivated and skilled clinician with experience and/or training in working with children and young people who present with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours.
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to children, young people, and their families. This role offers opportunities to work flexibly across the service and contribute to a range of clinical pathways.
Important qualities are excellent communication skills, working co-operatively and thinking creatively.

To provide specialist mental health assessments, formulation and behavioural interventions for children and young people with complex presentations
To work therapeutically with children, young people, and families, including those presenting with complex and challenging behaviours
To provide a care coordination role for children and young people with complex needs.
To contribute to risk assessment and management plans in line with service and Trust policies
To work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with partner agencies
To maintain high standards of clinical documentation and adhere to professional and organisational requirements
To participate in supervision, training, and service development activities

* Extensive experience of working in child and adolescent mental health services or substantial experience of working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural and neurodevelopmental difficulties.

* It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role.
