The opportunity
Due to significant growth following a number of high-profile client wins we are looking for an experienced and driven Corporate Tax Manager in our Reading Office. The role offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most exciting clients in the market to help support them as they navigate an ever increasingly complex tax environment.
Your key responsibilities:
1. Grow and maintain relationships with clients both existing and new clients
2. High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex tax advisory, compliance and reporting engagements
3. Involvement in tax audit engagements
4. Providing exceptional client service with responsibility for quality provided
5. Working collaboratively with other tax specialist teams
6. Grow networks and relationships internally and externally
7. Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
8. Lead team initiatives, covering all aspects of leading a successful team
Skills and attributes for success:
9. Significant experience in corporate tax from practice or from an in-house tax background
10. Strong client relationship management skills
11. Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and exhibit strong and stakeholder management
12. Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
13. Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
14. Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
15. Enthusiastic team player with the ability to create and sustain effective teams
16. Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
17. Ensure delivery of quality work
To qualify for the role, you must have
18. Experienced corporate tax practitioner (Minimum of 4 years’ experience)
19. ACA / CA / ACCA / CTA; or Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course; or Law qualification/Tax specialist qualification/or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification
20. Experience in tax accounting/tax audit
21. Proven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statute
Ideally, you’ll also have
22. Project management skills, plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
