About the Role:
Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance (QA) function. This position plays a key role in ensuring the organisation's products and processes meet regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. You will work collaboratively with Operations and Engineering to uphold the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS), reduce non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement across all areas of the business.
As part of the Quality Assurance team, you will contribute to maintaining compliance, supporting audits, developing quality plans, and addressing product quality issues. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment where precision and reliability are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute audits and assessments according to the internal audit schedule, completing all required documentation in compliance with the QMS.
2. Support investigations into quality issues, performing thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
3. Manage and monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions.
4. Maintain QA compliance metrics and ensure associated targets are achieved and sustained.
5. Support external audits, regulatory inspections, and customer visits, ensuring full compliance and timely responses to findings.
6. Perform regular shop floor audits, document findings, and ensure issues are escalated and resolved appropriately.
7. Assist in the coordination of timely responses and resolution of quality issues across departments.
8. Contribute to the development of Quality Plans, First Article Inspections (FAI), and support customer verification activities.
9. Facilitate engineering change requests, product concessions, and deviations in accordance with internal procedures.
10. Participate in engineering design reviews and audit design projects to ensure QMS compliance.
11. Engage in contract reviews and support new business proposal activities.
12. Oversee the Operators Approval Process, including issuing approval stamps and defining scopes.
13. Ensure departmental objectives align with overall business goals and the job holder's personal objectives.
14. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and processes at all times.
15. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through support of lean activities, process mapping, and other improvement initiatives.
16. Contribute to the maintenance and renewal of company approvals and certifications such as EASA/CAA, FAR, ISO, and AS standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
17. Proven experience in a Quality or Business Improvement role.
18. Hands-on experience working within a certified Quality Management System.
19. Proficient in conducting internal audits and supporting third-party audits.
20. Understanding of manufacturing processes and working within a supply chain environment.
21. Experience in communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
22. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
23. Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships across departments.
24. Organised and efficient with excellent time management skills.
25. Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
26. Capable of making informed decisions and managing workloads effectively.
27. Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable:
28. Experience working within an aerospace or defence organisation.
29. Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, EASA Part 21, and Part 145.
30. Knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD), counterfeit avoidance, and airworthiness topics.
31. Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) using AS9102, or PPAP processes.
32. Skilled in process measurement and monitoring tools (e.g., SPC, KPIs).
33. Familiarity with QMS or process mapping software tools.
34. Certified Quality Auditor or similar qualification.
35. Engineering-related educational background.
36. Educated to A-Level standard (Grade C or above), ideally degree-qualified.
