Overview
NHS Dumfries & Galloway Vaccination Team is looking to appoint a Band 5 Nurse within the Community Health and Social Care Directorate vaccination Team in the Stewarty area. This will be a 29.60 hour per week contract to support the delivery of vaccination programmes during peak times and will offer a good work life balance. Hours are to cover a five day a week service with a maximum 7.5 hour day, typically between 08:00 and 17:00.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team modernising the delivery of local vaccinations. You will be part of the team as we implement a cradle to grave service and will have a key role in supporting and developing the Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) vaccination programme.
You will be a first level registered nurse with post registration experience. You should be motivated and self driven with a commitment to delivering a high standard of care. Previous immunisation experience is desirable but not essential; however you should demonstrate knowledge of the child and adult vaccination programmes and the Green Book. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative as a lone worker within a variety of community settings. You must be able to travel independently or use public transport to attend clinic start and finish times as applicants will be required to work across the region.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of vaccination programmes during peak times.
* Work as part of the vaccination team to implement a cradle to grave service.
