Main duties of the job
We're seeking a forward-thinking, collaborative pharmacist to support delivery of our Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) programme. This exciting role offers the chance to shape care pathways, drive innovation in AMS, and support the Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service, with scope to take on a greater role in OPAT depending on individual aptitude, experience, and service needs.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
As part of our Anti-Infectives Pharmacy team, you will:
* Support the Lead OPAT Pharmacist with the delivery and ongoing development of the adult OPAT service at UHS, as required.
* Provide specialist advice on antimicrobial use, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment across the Trust.
* Lead on antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, including guideline development, audit, and education.
* Lead on formulary applications, providing expert evaluation of antimicrobial agents.
* Support the coordination of antibiotic supplies and management of shortages as needed.
* Work collaboratively with microbiology, infection prevention, and other teams to improve patient outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate Will
* Be an experienced pharmacist with a strong clinical background, ideally in infection or antimicrobials.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative working skills to build effective relationships across specialties.
* Show the ability to lead on projects and drive improvements in clinical practice.
* Have a proactive, innovative approach, with a commitment to developing services such as AMS and OPAT.

Person specification
Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
* Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
* Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
* Can demonstrate Advanced Stage 1 competencies in the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework in relation to medical or surgical patients
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Sound knowledge of clinical pharmacy services acquired while working within a suitable specialty
* Experience of audit and evaluative work
* Teaching and tutoring experience
* Experience of supervising others
* Experience of implementing change and change management
Desirable criteria
* Management qualification or equivalent experience
* MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
* Independent Prescribing qualification
* Leadership qualification or experience
* Project Management training or qualification
* Experience of managing others
