As a Supervisor / Machine Driver, you’ll lead day-to-day site operations while operating plant machinery to keep production running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage staff deployment, monitor H&S compliance, and ensure materials are processed, loaded, and recorded correctly.
Key accountabilities:
Supervise daily operations, allocating staff and setting clear objectives.
Operate mobile plant (Forklift, Loading Shovel, 360° Excavator) safely and efficiently.
Complete daily machine checks, report defects, and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
Ensure correct PPE use and compliance with all health & safety systems.
Load/unload vehicles, rotate waste, and maintain good site housekeeping.
Liaise with departments and escalate issues to the Regional Manager.
Book outgoing loads, keep material levels to a minimum, and complete all paperwork accurately.
Manage the site email account and respond promptly to queries.
Experience and Skills:
Proven supervisory or team-leading experience in a waste, recycling, or industrial setting.
Competent and certified to operate relevant plant machinery.
Strong understanding of health & safety, risk assessments, and compliance.
Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
Proactive and hands-on, with the ability to support across site activities
