Job Title: Lead Cloud Architect
Location: London (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite)
Salary: £150,000
We’re partnering with a fast-evolving independant software vendor within the Trading Technology space who offer a top-tier SaaS platform built for global capital markets delivering end-to-end solutions for trading.
They’re currently undergoing a significant cloud transformation journey. Reporting directly to the CTO, this is a high-impact, strategic role for a Lead Cloud Architect ready to shape and lead the cloud vision.
What you bring to the table:
* Proven experience designing and delivering complex cloud architecture within creative or product-led software organisations (SMEs preferred).
* Expert level knowledge of AWS, IaC, Pipelines, and Containers.
* 10+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems engineering, or a related field, with a focus on cloud migration and modernization.
* Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS and tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and EKS.
* Expert level Linux knowledge.
* Experience leading cloud strategy and transformation initiatives at scale.
* Strong consultancy-style mindset — able to assess challenges quickly, ask the right questions, and provide clear direction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead Cloud Strategy: Define and drive a comprehensive hybrid cloud modernisation plan — from assessing the current environment to designing the target architecture and migration roadmap.
* Hybrid Architecture Design: Create scalable, secure hybrid cloud solutions that integrate on-premise infrastructure with cloud services.
* Ensure Reliability: Maintain and enhance the reliability and availability of key systems throughout the transformation.
* Champion Automation & IaC: Promote Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and best practices in CI/CD to streamline infrastructure, security, and cost control.
* Enable Containerisation & Orchestration: Lead the adoption of container technologies (e.g., Podman) and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes to improve scalability and flexibility.
* Security & Compliance: Uphold strong security practices and ensure all systems meet compliance standards during and after modernisation
* Performance & Capacity Planning: Forecast future capacity needs and optimise performance across the hybrid environment.
