Join Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the Out of Area Placements (OAPs) team in an exciting administrative role supporting a newly commissioned service. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting team members with daily administrative duties, contributing to a service aligned with our Community Mental Health Transformation program and the Trust’s vision of ‘One-Team’.

The service provides out of area care, gatekeeping for S117 applications, out of area placements, and individual funding requests for complex mental health needs. This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including mental health teams, ICBs, local authorities, and care providers.

The position offers autonomy, variety, and development opportunities.


Main duties of the job

* Ensure the safe and effective delivery of Out of Area Placements (OAPs) services daily.
* Maintain a service that is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led, with positive outcomes for service users.
* Support service users to live healthy, fulfilling lives in a least restrictive environment.
* Work across boundaries seamlessly to maximize value for money and achieve the best outcomes.
* Undertake complex administrative duties, including managing MS Teams and other software, multitasking, and minute-taking.
* Demonstrate empathy, supportiveness, and sensitivity to others’ needs.
* Support team colleagues passionately.

Education/Qualifications/Training

* Degree level education or evidence of career development.
* Minimum GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent.


Continuous Professional Development

* Good IT skills.
* First aid/fire training or willingness to undertake.


Previous Experience

* Commitment to ongoing skills development.
* Experience in minute-taking at senior levels.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
* Adaptability in changing environments.
* Experience working in partnership with related agencies.
* Self-directed with good time management.
