Job Summary
The General Internal Medicine Training Programme Director role across the South East region leads the delivery of educational functions aligned with NHS England mandate. The Director works with Heads of School and local Training Programme Directors to improve learner supervision, assessment, experience and engagement of faculty, ensuring effective educational outcomes and driving workforce transformation in line with the 10‑year plan, including multi‑professional links.

Responsibilities
* Accountable to Associate Deans responsible for one of the schools of medicine in the region.
* Improve learner supervision, assessment and experience.
* Engage faculty and ensure effective educational outcomes.
* Lead workforce transformation initiatives under the 10‑year plan.
* Develop and maintain multi‑professional links across health and social care.
* Coordinate Training Programme Director (TPD) activities to reflect changing service models.
Applicants from within NHS will be offered on a secondment basis; agreement from employer required.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
* Fellowship of a College/Faculty, professional association and/or body.
Desirable Qualifications
* Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development.
* Qualification such as PG Cert, diploma or Master of Medical Education.

Employment and Experience
* Experience working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
* Experience of clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi‑professional team.
* Demonstrable track record of service and education delivery.
* Understanding developments involving relevant Colleges/Faculties and professional bodies.
* Training and experience in recruitment, selection and E&D within last 3 years.
* Active involvement in appraisal processes.
* Knowledge of NHS structures and processes, including workforce matters.
* Understanding of workforce transformation agenda.
* Previous or current appointment as leader in healthcare education.
* Awareness of funding streams for healthcare education.
* Understanding of current health and social care and education policy.
UK Registration
