An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Hertfordshire District Council to work within a busy and friendly accounts environment, whilst studying for an accountancy qualification. Based within the Controls, Risk and Performance team, the Apprentice will provide finance support and assistance to the Accounts team and the wider organisation. In return, you will gain experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashiering, and Reconciliations, while studying for an apprenticeship qualification with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
Working under the supervision of the Controls, Risk & Performance Manager, the tasks include:
1. Reconciliation of Control Accounts
2. Analysis of financial data
3. Investigation of discrepancies and posting entries on the accounting system
4. Responding to queries and information requests from internal and external customers
Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship or in a similar subject.
We are looking for a capable candidate with good attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills, a good standard of literacy and numeracy, and a team-oriented mindset.
