Purpose of the role:
Working with a team of experienced RF, electronics, and mechanical engineers, you will contribute to the design of radio frequency products, responsible for analogue and digital circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout, ensuring that electrical performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements are met.
Summary of Responsibilities:
* Design and layout of electronic circuits with inputs from RF engineers for telecommunications and defense products.
* Design of low voltage module power supplies, bias circuits, analogue circuits (signal conditioning, filters, op-amps), digital circuits (glue logic, ADCs, DACs, microprocessors).
* Specify and design analogue and digital circuits, select components, and simulate circuits.
* Define circuit board requirements including materials and layer stack-up.
* Create schematics and PCB layouts following best practices, manage libraries, generate BoMs.
* Deliver verified, documented designs meeting technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
* Perform thermal, MTBF, and component derating analysis.
* Prepare design documentation for release and production.
* Communicate with PCB vendors and CEM subcontractors regarding specs and changes.
* Verify and validate designs, prepare test specs, reports, and conduct reliability testing.
* Participate in and initiate design reviews to mitigate risks.
* Manage component obsolescence and suggest alternatives.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose faults during product introduction, develop diagnostic procedures.
* Meet departmental objectives as assigned by the Team Leader.
Candidate Requirements:
