CNC Setter / Operator (Turner) - Hailsham, East Sussex An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Turner to join a growing and forward-thinking engineering team. 37 working hour week - finishing at 12pm on Fridays Excellent company benefits including 25 days holiday Bank holidays Competitive Salary MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK STATUS IN PLACE AS THE COMPANY ARE UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSORSHIP. ALSO MUST LIVE LOCALLY OR BE WILLING TO COMMUTE Primary Objectives: The main purpose of this role is to set and operate CNC Lathes to produce precision-engineered parts to specification. Key Responsibilities: Set and run both proven and unproven programs, making necessary adjustments to work/tool coordinates and resolving any issues. Set tools and produce accurate ‘First off’ parts. Switch between different machines as required. Participate in relevant training to support job performance and development. Carry out preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment. Support wider business needs by performing other duties as required. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience using CNC machines, particularly lathes. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T. Skilled in reading ISO and conversational programming. Familiar with various machine control systems. Understanding of tooling and material behavior during machining. Proactive in identifying potential issues before they occur. Able to meet deadlines without compromising on quality. Ideally experienced in machining chambers and fabricated items. Aware of the importance of on-time delivery both internally and externally. Desirable Skills & Experience: IT literate, particularly with Windows and MS Office. Experience with offline programming (AlphaCAM preferred – training available). Familiar with electronic inspection tools such as Faro Arm. Skilled in both manual and CNC turning. Qualifications: Completion of a relevant craft apprenticeship with a minimum of 5 years’ hands-on machining experience. Further qualifications in an engineering or manufacturing discipline are desirable. Personal Qualities: Highly motivated and enthusiastic. Strong team player with good communication skills.
