Responsibilities and duties of the Associate Director role Within this role, you will: Act as the discipline lead for the office, providing technical and operational support to engineers locally and across multiple offices Assist in the day-to-day management of the office and engineering team, including client management, invoicing, resource management, team morale, and business development Manage multiple projects and lead frameworks/workstreams in a co-ordinated manner, ensuring delivery to deadlines and within fee cost requirements Act as the clients main technical point of contact (and where required overall project lead), providing excellent client care throughout Maintain and develop client relationships, promoting the company to existing and potential clients and industry contacts Support business development activities, identifying opportunities for new and repeat work, including bringing or developing client accounts Play a key role in strengthening the electrical capability within the business following a recent senior retirement Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Degree/experience qualified in Engineering or a related discipline Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE or equivalent) - essential Strong background in building services engineering Proven experience in managing teams, projects, and client relationships Demonstrable experience in business development and/or ability to bring existing client accounts Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability Personal skills The Associate Director role would suit someone who is: Ambitious and motivated to grow with the business A strong leader with excellent communication skills Commercially aware with a proactive approach to winning work Highly organised with strong time management abilities Client-focused with excellent relationship-building skills A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach Salary and benefits Up to £120,000 full package (dependent on experience) Car allowance Private healthcare 30 days annual leave (buy/sell up to 5 days) 4x salary life assurance Income protection Hybrid working 37.5-hour working week Full flexible benefits portal Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
