The Role
This role sits within our Integrated Front Door Team, which in other Local Authorities is referred to as the MASH. The position is office-based and does not involve case holding, but you will work collaboratively with partner agencies such as the Police, Health, Missing from Home Coordinator, Independent Domestic Violence Advocates and Children with Disabilities Duty. You will have daily interactions with partner agencies and families and the public, screen, triage and make threshold decisions for new referrals, and provide expert knowledge to professionals and families. Your contributions to strategy meetings and multi‑agency meetings will be valued.
About You
* At least two years post‑qualifying experience as a social worker.
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and current children’s social care practice.
* Skilled in analysing information from multiple sources, assessing risk, and making safe, timely and proportionate threshold decisions for children in need and those requiring protection.
* Excellent communication skills, able to build positive professional relationships, provide clear advice and guidance to referrers and partner agencies, and engage appropriately with families.
* Confident in completing high‑quality contacts and referrals, presenting accurate and concise information verbally and in writing.
* Act as a champion for continuous improvement, role‑model high standards of practice, embed research in practice, and contribute positively to the ongoing development of the Integrated Front Door and wider Children’s Services.

* DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance required; the post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013) and employment offers are conditional upon satisfactory clearances.
* Retention of the classification of customer‑facing role under the fluency duty requiring an acceptable level of spoken English.
