About the role
This Primary and Secondary SEND Alternative Provision, based in South Shields has two sites and is looking to appoint a passionate Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage 1 on a full-time basis. Working in this Primary and Secondary SEND Alternative Provision as part of an established team, the desired Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviour. As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant you will support the class teacher in working with pupils who are disaffected to help raise standards of achievement and help enable them to become independent learners. You will engage in positive behaviour management and encourage pupils to engage in the wider social and academic aspects of school life through extracurricular activities.
This full time Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant role is long term from April ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant you will:
1. Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children.
2. Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
3. A passion for the progress of all SEND pupils.
4. An ability to work as part of a team.
5. Ability to deal with fast paced situations.

Salary
£350 to £450 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
