The Role
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the Head of Maintenance in ensuring our school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and well maintained.
This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of work across the estate. You’ll help ensure lessons and school activities run smoothly by keeping facilities in good repair and assisting with maintenance, repairs, and operational support. You will be working Work as part of a supportive and friendly Estates team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with planned and reactive maintenance across the school site.
* Support routine safety checks and compliance with Health & Safety standards.
* Carry out general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, moving furniture, and preparing rooms.
* Assist with deliveries, waste management, and recycling operations.
* Respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimise disruption.
* Support grounds maintenance and site safety during adverse weather (e.g., snow and ice clearance).
* Maintain equipment and storage areas in good order.

Winchester House School
Winchester House School was founded in 1875 and moved to its present 18-acre site in the centre of Brackley in 1922. The heart of the School is situated in Manor House, an attractive building dating from the early 1800s. Winchester House comprises a fully co-educational nursery, pre-prep and preparatory school, offering an outstanding education to children aged 3-13 with day, occasional and weekly boarding available.
