Class Teacher
* Deliver the curriculum relevant to the age, ability group, and subject(s) you teach.
* Be responsible for preparing and developing teaching materials, programmes, and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
* Be accountable for the attainment, progress, and outcomes of the pupils you teach.
* Be aware of pupils' capabilities, prior knowledge, and plan teaching accordingly, demonstrating understanding of how pupils learn.
* Understand the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs, EAL, and disabilities; use and evaluate teaching approaches to support them.
* Promote high standards of literacy, including the correct use of spoken English, regardless of your subject specialization.
* Demonstrate understanding of early reading strategies, such as systematic synthetic phonics.
* Use a range of observation, assessment, monitoring, and recording strategies to set challenging objectives and monitor progress for pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
* Utilize assessment data effectively to secure pupils' progress.
* Provide regular feedback to pupils both orally and through accurate marking, encouraging reflection and responsible attitude towards their learning.
* Use data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan future lessons.
* Assign homework and plan out-of-class activities to reinforce and extend learning.
* Participate in examination and assessment arrangements as per the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
