This is a newly refocused role offering significant scope, strong mentorship, and exposure to a wide variety of UK contracts. You'll take the lead on commercial and contractual matters across the UK business to protect the organisation's interests while building strong, long-lasting relationships. This position is ideal for someone from an M&E or construction background, who wants to broaden their experience in a supportive environment with access to seasoned commercial expertise.
The Role
You'll act as the commercial and contractual lead for the UK, ensuring risks are identified early, client terms are well-negotiated, and contracts are delivered in line with agreed expectations. You'll review and negotiate T&Cs, mitigate commercial risks, manage contract changes, and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, negotiate and amend client T&Cs across simple to complex bespoke contracts.
Identify, communicate, and mitigate commercial risk from initial enquiry through delivery.
Maintain visibility of all commercial risks for UK contracts, including variations and notifications.
Engage early with Engineering teams to flag risks before quoting.
Take ownership of contract change control and variations, reducing pressure on Project Managers and Engineers.
Attend client commercial reviews and build strong, collaborative relationships.
Manage contract variations, ERNs and change control, ensuring both sides meet obligations.
Ensure accurate contract documentation, records, and commercial compliance.
Support procurement with flow-down contract conditions.
Handle insurance claims to resolution and coordinate bonds/guarantees.
Contribute to commercial/legal policy updates and raise commercial awareness across the business.
Experience & Skills:
Strong commercial and contractual background within an M&E, construction or similar project-led environment.
Able to review, draft, negotiate and amend bespoke terms & conditions.
Commercially minded with solid understanding of contractual law principles.
Confident working with technical teams, legal, clients and suppliers.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
