What will you be doing?
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer based in Hull, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, leading efforts to make our manufacturing processes smarter, faster, and more efficient. Your day might begin with a walk through the production floor, observing the flow of value streams and identifying opportunities to reduce waste. You’ll collaborate with teams across design, quality, supply chain, and maintenance to ensure that every product we launch is innovative and efficiently manufacturable at scale.
You’ll lead the development and optimisation of tools, equipment, and processes—always prioritising safety, quality, and cost. Whether applying Six Sigma to solve complex challenges or mentoring engineers and apprentices, your work will directly impact our performance and culture of continuous improvement.
You’ll be involved in planning capital investments and driving efficiency gains year-on-year, shaping our current and future ways of working.
What does success look like?
Success in this role means being a visible, hands-on presence on the production floor—someone who turns improvement opportunities into measurable results. You’ll drive productivity gains and reduce process waste while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
You’ll be recognized as an expert in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, using data and insights to solve challenges and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Your collaboration across functions will ensure smooth product launches and scalable processes.
You’ll also mentor and guide engineers, technicians, and apprentices, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
Requirements for success:
* Proven experience in manufacturing, with a solid understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement practices
* Lean and/or Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred) accreditation or equivalent hands-on experience
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and mentor others in a fast-paced environment
