Five Education are looking to recruit someone with experience working in kitchens to teach cookery and chef skills to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This job will involve working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The school is a specialist school set in Taunton. The school caters for all types of children, some of whom have Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
The person applying for this role should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a kitchen or similar setting. You will need to be confident and have a resilient nature. You will need to have patience in teaching new skills and be passionate about your skill set.
The work is 5 days a week, term time only and the hours are 8:30-15:30.
Responsibilities and duties:
· Supporting 1:1 in class and in small groups to enable them to learn cookery skills.
· Help the pupils to access the curriculum and possibly tailor the lesson or the activity to their level of ability.
· Make learning fun, enjoyable and accessible.
· Be a support to the pupils when they are struggling, and help them to calm down and remain focussed.
Essential Criteria:
· 2 years worth of references, 1 has to be working with children or vulnerable adults (needs to be recent and this could be paid or volunteer work)
· A relevant DBS/Police checks.
· Able to work between 08.30-15.30, 5 days a week

The day is 7 hours with an unpaid 30 minute lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £100.00* but with a potential to earn more based on level of experience.
