Our client’s financial requirements are split into Residential (regulated mortgages) and Commercial (unregulated) transactions.
The primary focus of the role is to support our growing and diversifying commercial transactions portfolio, as we expand our business and broaden our commercial client base; there is also opportunity to support residential transactions.
Role: Finance Advisor - known internally as : Associate Relationship Director (Commercial)
Location: Stow on the Wold
Reports To: Head of Finance
Direct Reports: None
Travel within the UK to meet clients and other professional firms will form part of this role.
Primary Purpose:
Contribute directly to delivering an outstanding service for our clients:
accurate financial modelling and analysis of client financials
structuring and evaluating lending proposals
working independently on behalf of clients to manage the loan application process from start to finish, co-ordinating with clients and their advisors, setting expectations and actions for lenders and other professionals
driving transactions to maintain pace and achieve great outcomes for clients
representing client and company interests externally
Key responsibilities:
Prepare finished high-quality credit documents for internal and external use, ensuring constant contact with client to ensure completeness and accuracy of analysis. Review others’ work for accuracy, completeness and quality of presentation, suggesting constructive improvements
Analyse and input financial accounts, budgets and other financial information onto bespoke client models and confirm the veracity of client financial information
Using financial information to form lending proposals and pricing strategy
Working within the deal team, presenting credible and compelling credit proposals to potential lenders in writing and in person
Quickly build rapport with clients and professional advisors and make frequent, confident and purposeful contact to ensure clients’ best interests are prioritised, and transactions progressed as quickly and as orderly as possible
Maintain data and information on our Customer Relationship Management system and archives to ensure client files and audit history are always FCA-compliant and complete and available for internal or external audit, and to maintain a complete data picture that supports internal analysis and insight into company performance
Record and monitor weekly progress against commercial and residential transactions using project management approaches, highlighting where transactions are at risk or behind schedule, requiring corrective action
Maintain transparent, trusting, reciprocal strategic relationships with key introducing professionals and lenders, both to facilitate delivering for our clients and ongoing business development
To undertake regulatory CPD and keep abreast of industry change, innovation and best practice which enables us to demonstrate credibility with our introducers and our clients and improve, redefine or grow our services
Undertake Business Development activity in support of the Head of BD, including prospect meetings, introducer presentations and networking events
Assist the office manager to complete the induction of all new personnel in line with the induction programme for each new employee covering the use and management of client files and SalesForce to ensure that our internal processes are followed

Professional Skills & Experience:
Banking and credit experience is essential, evidencing knowledge and experience of bank credit functions and the ability to undertake financial analysis
The ability to concisely communicate complex messages and financial analysis in written reports
The ability to work closely with the MD, Head of Finance, Head of Credit and Head of BD to complement the above responsibilities
Strong IT skills, including:
Skilled and confident Excel user with the ability to work quickly and accurately
Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems
Experience in a regulated or controlled environment in which compliance and robust audit trail is paramount
Education/qualifications
~ Quantitative qualification or relevant work experience (e.g. CCAB-qualified accountant, AAT)
