A well-established and thriving UK manufacturer and distributor is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee daily transport operations for a busy North West site. This is a key role ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective movement of products across the UK, while maintaining excellent customer service levels.

Key Responsibilities as Transport Manager
* Manage daily transport planning, scheduling, and vehicle utilisation
* Manage and maintain company O‑Licence compliance
* Oversee drivers, third‑party carriers, and a transport planning team
* Ensure full compliance with UK transport legislation and maintain accurate fleet records
* Work closely with internal teams to align transport plans with operational needs
* Liaise with customers on delivery requirements and updates
* Manage transport budgets, cost control, and operational reporting
The successful candidate
* Proven experience in transport management within manufacturing, distribution, FMCG or 3PL operations
* Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance
* Strong IT skills and excellent leadership and communication abilities
* Experience working with third‑party logistics providers
