Symrise - always inspiring more… The UK Fragrance Laboratory Manager is essential to support the UK Fragrance team (Sales, Marketing and Evaluation) to remain competitive and deliver winning fragrances in a responsive manner. The major objectives are to: produce samples to evaluate for customer briefs produce samples to send to customers support with technical issues support with panel testing support with evaluation sessions support with market sample and fragrance oil inventories Main Tasks Lab Management: Keep all lab resources in good working order and maintain compliance with safety regulations and quality procedures at all times Responsible for all laboratory equipment Responsible for management of customer base inventories, internal bases and packaging inventories Responsible for maintaining the fragrance oil library in good working order (eg stock replenishment) Responsible for waste disposal Fragrance Application Support: Support proactive and client-initiated fragrance development projects for Home & Beauty Care categories (air care, laundry, surface care, beauty care, fine fragrance) by applying fragrances in various un-fragranced bases Work closely with the Evaluation Manager and the Sales team to provide technical support, i.e. solve problems in the application of fragrance to product and the improvement of existing products Develop strong, collaborative, working relationships across the Fragrance Application Teams in the various Symrise regional creative centres. Fragrance Evaluation Support: Preparation of laundry assessments Preparation of candle assessments Lead internal panel tests (preparation of tests data analysis) Work closely with Evaluation on maintaining the Fine Fragrance and Market Product Libraries Co-ordination of market sample requests from the UK team and other Symrise sites Organise sample despatch to other Symrise sites Job Requirement's A minimum of 3-years of experience within the cosmetic industry and BSc (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Food Science or Chemical Engineering Fluent in English Key competencies/behaviours Passion for Fragrances Strong Microsoft Office software knowledge, especially Outlook & Excel Record keeping and data presentation Adhere to instructions Able to follow instructions with attention to detail and accuracy Possesses the ability to work in an organised, logical and safe manner Team working and co-operation Good communication and literacy skills Initiative taker and pro-active Demonstrate technical problem-solving skills and understanding of how to adjust application recipes to deliver the best solutions for our customers Become part of our open and transparent culture.
