My client, a Tier 1 Main Contractor, is hiring a permanent employed BIM Coordinator Technician to work from their Head Office in Swindon. The role involves working on major civil infrastructure projects, reporting to the BIM Manager.
Purpose of the Role
To support the client's implementation of BIM processes at a project level by producing and/or modifying information and graphical models according to standard methods and procedures.
The role includes delivering and supporting the project team in deriving secondary benefits from the information model (e.g., 4D schedules, quantity take-offs, still images) and assisting the BIM Manager and Coordinator in successfully delivering BIM projects.
Role Accountabilities
* Creating files and ensuring appropriate file attributes are correctly captured.
* Producing and/or amending information in line with the Project SMP.
* Ensuring graphical models are spatially coordinated to avoid clashes and escalating interface issues as needed.
* Ensuring all elements of the information model are fully coordinated.
* Submitting information for approval according to the TIDP.
Additional Duties
* Supporting and deputising for the BIM Coordinator or BIM Manager when required.
* Undertaking tasks assigned by the BIM Development Manager for the company's benefit.
* Performing other duties relevant to your role and seniority to meet the company's needs.
* Engaging in collaborative working following client procedures and the JRMP.
Required Project Knowledge
* Understanding of construction activities and infrastructure projects.
* Applied knowledge of PAS2-2:3 and its processes.
* Knowledge of infrastructure design processes.
* Ability to interpret and apply industry, client, and internal CAD standards.
* Experience with project delivery using core 2D/3D CAD applications such as AutoCAD and Bentley systems.
