Clinical Nurse Specialist – Breast SST – Ovarian Suppression
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and highly skilled Non medical prescriber Clinical Nurse Specialist with an interest in ovarian suppression to lead and develop the ovarian suppression pathway for patients undergoing systemic anti‑cancer treatment.
This post plays a pivotal role in improving patient experience, clinical outcomes, and continuity of care for individuals requiring ovarian suppression as part of their cancer treatment. You will work closely with oncology consultants, nursing teams, pharmacy, and allied health professionals to deliver safe, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Act as the key clinical point of contact for patients receiving ovarian suppression therapy
* Provide specialist clinical advice, education, and support to patients and their families
* Develop and maintain patient information resources and education materials
* Support informed decision‑making, fertility discussions, and holistic needs assessments
* Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
* Provide education and support to nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues
* Work autonomously within agreed protocols while collaborating closely with the MDT

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Registered Nurse Degree in healthcare related subject Masters level education in health‑related subject or on a Masters pathway Post‑registration qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant subject Advanced communication skills training or evidence/experience of advanced communication skills Evidence of continued professional development Independent prescribing qualification
* Teaching qualification Experience of audit and research Leadership and management experience

* Experience of teaching Experience of using advanced communication skills Previous experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or previous experience of working as a band 6 in speciality oncology or palliative care
