Role Overview
The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer to drive the company's business transformation agenda and manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance team. This is a hands-on position within a growing organisation, requiring a strong focus on professionalising financial processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and deliver accurate, timely month-end and year-end management accounts, including all reports required by external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to prepare reliable forecasts and budgets.
* Identify and communicate risks and opportunities affecting cashflow
* Drive improvements and professionalisation across the Finance function, including systems, controls, and processes.
* Manage the treasury function, including cashflow forecasting.
* Lead the statutory audit process and act as the main point of contact for external auditors.
* Oversee all tax compliance activities, including HMRC/statutory returns, computations, and coordination with tax advisors.
* Manage and develop a small team.
* Act as a strategic business partner to the Senior Management Team.
* Provide ad-hoc financial and strategic support to the CFO and CEO as required.
Skills and Experience
* CCAB-qualified accountant with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience, gained either in a manufacturing environment or within a Big 4 (or equivalent) audit firm.
* Strong ability to challenge existing practices and introduce process improvements.
* Proven experience managing small teams.
