Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Material Logistics Leader on a 6 month contract, located in the Midlands
Role Summary
* Manage, Lead, Coach and Develop a team of Logistics operatives to ensure that all materials are accounted for and securely stored.
* Manage and record Material movements between, Client Production, Client Suppliers, Site, alternative storage area. Including rejects from supplier, Production line, Quality.
* Fully responsible to maintain flow of materials to feed production line.
* Create and Manage workload plans to support planning and resource loading.
* Create, Support and Manage KPI requirements using data to make improvements. Fully responsible to ensure all material handing equipment, FLT, Crane and other lifting and material movement equipment is suitable and compliant .
* The successful candidate will be self-motivated to work with the minimum of supervision, results driven capable of dealing with a dynamic and fluid manufacturing and project orientated environment with the need for innovative solutions. They will be a strong and competent Leader with previous experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Management of the storage area(s) and offloading/ loading of materials onto various modes of transport.
· To Manage, be responsible and accountable for: -
o Workday and Fieldglass actions including on/off boarding all Operators and contingent workers
o Receipt of materials against PO requirements, updating ERP tool in line targets and processes.
o Safe and secure storage of materials including identification of locations of all Valve Materials and other GSI Materials received into the building
o Materials movements and the recording of such always applying FIFO.
o Line side feed in line with production requirements, identifying at the earliest possible potential shortages.
o Materials handling equipment (FLT, Pallet trucks, Crane etc) availability and compliant, ensuing suitable and sufficient equipment to meet demands
o PI (Cycle counting) and full stock checks with accuracy in line with MPS requirements.
o VMI material stocks constantly checking for potential shortages
o Reusable packing, keeping accurate records
o Material deliveries to suppliers and or customer sites using correct applications and processes (MTA, ERP, Excel etc)
o Packing all outgoing materials includes finished goods lose materials for delivery to site Supplier returns, returnable packing.
o Issue and Replenishment of consumable materials used in the Production area, maintaining accurate records
o Shelf-Life Materials identifying shelf life on receipt and checking on a regular basis to avoid shortages
o KPI Data collection within the GSC Logistics function, taking ownership of data to analyse and make proposal for improvements.
o KPI Dashboard Completion. (TT10 KPI Smart sheet) including Cycle count
o Support SQA team with requirements and ensure QM Lot Material (Materials waiting inspection) are segregated.
o To Lead, develop, coach, manage and be responsible and accountable for Logistics operatives, ensuring the team’s training needs are met and in line with GSI requirements making use of skills matrix and other relevant tools., maintaining relevant records and evidence to support. Ensure all Logistic Operators have received correct training.
o Responsible to Create, Review and maintain processes and RAMS within Logistics area to ensure compliance GSI requirements
o Contribute fully to KPI requirements within Logistics Area. Taking actions using data collected to make improvements
o Contribute fully towards continuous improvement, leading CI actions where required.
o Ensuring that the companies EHS policies are communicated, understood, and adhered to.
o Ensure that all team members and visitors adhere in full to EHS requirements
o KPI Provide and Support the Data collection within the GSC Logistics function, taking ownership of data to analyse and make proposal for improvements.
o KPI Dashboard Completion.
Meetings
· Attend and participate to cross functional meetings as required. Taking full responsibility to ensure that all associated actions allocated to yourself and team are actioned and closed within the defined date.
· Lead meetings and be responsible for the closure of all actions identified.
Environmental Health & Safety and Quality
· Ensuring that the Company's quality, environment health & safety policies are read, understood and adhered to within context of role.
· Responsible for all 5S activities and environmental improvements as required
· Responsible for Stores Area / Delivery Bay / Offsite storage area and Process, EHS adherence to safe operating procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Good general standard of education GCSE/A HNC/HND level
· Proven experience in a similar field with 10 years’ experience of leading a team within Materials Management
· Strong Organisational skills
· Strong leadership skills
· Proficient in Kanban and Flow/Pull techniques
· Safe working practices within a working environment (EHS)
· Co-ordination of resources
· Mechanical equipment operator certificates
· Communication at all business levels
· SAP ERP System management essential
· Outlook Office applications
· Multi-functional team working.
· Problem solving
