Job Title: Senior Accountant
Hours: 36hrs per week, 52 weeks per year, Permanent
Salary: 60k

Herts Resourcing Group (HRG) is working with a college in Walthamstow and we’re actively looking for an experienced Senior Accountant (Projects & System Development) to join their team. The successful candidate will support the Director of Finance in delivering outstanding financial leadership across the college. This is a key strategic role, helping to shape the College’s financial planning, capital investment, grant management, and financial systems development.

You Must Have:
* A fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or significant experience in a senior finance role within the education sector.
* Proven experience in financial management of capital and grant-funded projects.
* Strong understanding of public sector accounting, cash flow, and financial systems development.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex finance concepts to non-finance staff.
* Experience in leading or supporting finance teams and promoting continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience of financial reporting in the FE sector – including, but not limited to, preparing medium term financial plans, budgets, capital plans, in year forecast
* Understanding of management information systems and finance dashboard
* Experience of maintaining Finance systems and training users
* Excel advanced (skilled in pivot tables and charts), Word intermediate (creating tables and professionally formatted of reports) and Outlook
