A well-regarded secondary school in Leyland is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 1st to December 19th, 2025. This full-time, fixed-term role is a fantastic opportunity to support students’ progress while working closely with teaching staff in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Role Overview:
As an HLTA, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, supporting learning across a range of subjects, and working with small groups or individual students. You may also provide cover supervision for classes in the absence of the teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes as required
Support students’ academic and personal development
Assist teachers in planning and assessment
Provide targeted interventions for students with additional needs
Maintain a positive and safe learning environment
Candidate Requirements:
Hold HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
Confident in delivering lessons across key stages
Strong communication, organisation and behaviour management skills
A flexible, proactive and supportive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
