Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £90 - £110 per day

GSL Education are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join supportive and inclusive primary schools in Newcastle upon Tyne. This position is ideal for compassionate individuals who are passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
About the Role:
* Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
* Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Provide emotional and behavioural support to promote positive learning.
* Help prepare learning resources and contribute to lesson planning.
* Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure effective pupil support.

Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with or willing to work with children with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs).
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
* A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
