The Trade Marketing role provides intelligent and distinctive communications across a variety of channels that support TMG’s commercial growth. These communications promote The Telegraph’s brand, journalism, audiences, products and commercial opportunities to marketing directors and media agency planners/buyers.
Being a premium publisher, operating in an extremely competitive commercial market, we are looking for someone who appreciates the power of good marketing and is able to help translate business problems into inspiring communications that are on brand and raise desire.
This is a junior role, so we are looking for someone who has recently completed their A-levels or further education and is seeking to start a career in marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Initially you will be supporting the Trade Marketing team with a variety of projects:
* Taking briefs from internal stakeholders for new projects
* Brainstorming ideas for marketing solutions
* Building project plans
* Helping with the communications strategy. EG suggesting platforms, imagery and copy
* Sourcing branded merchandise and gifts
* Organising and running competitions and incentives
* Running the Trade Marketing Social Media accounts
* Researching venues for events
* Supporting the running of events: managing guest lists, creating name badges, ordering food, briefing staff, guest management, follow-up communication, wash-ups and recommendations
As your experience develops you will then be given more responsibility:
* Taking the lead on projects from ideation to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget
* Formulating and developing communication strategies and collateral
* Building go to market stories
* Taking full ownership of events
* Developing strategies for growth
Requirements
* Strong awareness of current events and emerging trends to shape relevant, engaging communications.
* Creative flair and an eye for design to help deliver impactful marketing and provide constructive feedback.
* A proactive idea generator with the ability to translate business opportunities into compelling campaigns.
* Excellent attention to detail, communication, and copywriting skills to uphold our premium brand standards.
* A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with strong project ownership and adaptability.
* Confident using Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and social media platforms, especially LinkedIn.
* Customer-focused, ideally with experience in events, hospitality, or stakeholder management.
