About the SchoolThis warm, inclusive SEN school in Eastbourne is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to flourish. The school supports pupils with a diverse range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, and moderate learning challenges. The RoleAs an SEN Primary Teacher, you will:
1. Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
2. Teach across the primary age range, with the flexibility to support pupils up to age 13.
3. Differentiate learning effectively, using a range of strategies and resources to ensure accessibility for all.
4. Create a safe, structured, and stimulating classroom environment.
5. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and specialist staff to deliver a holistic learning experience.
6. Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching plans as needs evolve.
7. Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s development.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
8. A qualified teacher with QTS.
9. Experienced in teaching children with SEN, ideally within a primary or middle school setting.
10. Confident in using positive behaviour management strategies.
11. Skilled at differentiating lessons and using creative approaches to engage diverse learners.
12. Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
