We have a consultant opportunity in our Salisbury CAMHS team. As a Consultant you will support your manager to ensure that service users receive high-quality care, offer a person-centred approach to independence and well-being, and have clinical leadership opportunities to develop services across the patch and medical education/supervision.

Main duties of the job
You will provide clinical leadership and medical input to the team. You will take responsibility for your own patients and those seen by medical staff directly supervised by you. With other consultants, you will share responsibility for clinical governance as clinical leads for the team. The team assesses emergencies within a day of referral and may involve Mental Health Act assessments in certain circumstances. The Consultant is not expected to make initial assessments except in specific cases. You will work in partnership within the multidisciplinary team for clinical management, including risk assessment, carer needs assessment, and development of services for patients and families. You will join and participate in the weekly clinical MDT.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
* Eligibility for Section 12 (Mental Health Act 1983) Approval and Approved Clinician status.
* Eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Registrar in a psychiatric speciality; OR within six months of achieving registration at interview.
Experience
* Essential: Excellent knowledge in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; experience in multidisciplinary teamwork; multiagency partnerships; management of complex cases; familiarity with UK health systems and CAMHS services; ability to undertake full range of Consultant responsibilities.
* Desirable: Evidence-based practice applications; development of multidisciplinary teamwork; high training in Adolescent Psychiatry.
Skills and Knowledge
* Collaborative leadership in a multidisciplinary framework; medical leadership within the team; effective communication with patients, relatives, and staff; teaching experience; supervision of trainees; professional collaboration; flexibility to accommodate service changes.
Other requirements
* Full registration with GMC
* Able to travel between base and clinic sites
