Overview
As a part‑time optometrist at Asda Opticians in Fareham, you will deliver high‑quality patient care, performing eye examinations, contact lens fittings and extended service examinations. You will work alongside our Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching and maintenance of departmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service examinations.
- Provide clinical service in accordance with NHS extended service contracts, supporting eye condition treatment and monitoring.
- Support and train dispensing opticians, ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
- Assist in delivering additional accreditations and training opportunities as required.
- Contribute to the development of new patient services and the shape of the department culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
- Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board MECs or WECs accredited (or willingness to gain accreditation within 12 months).
- On track to meet statutory points requirement for CPD.
- Evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
- Evidence of NHS performer list for the nation of work and two clinical references.
- For Wales: evidence of WECS accreditation and WGOS module accreditation.
