ROLE: Purchase Ledger Clerk
HOURS: 8am to 5pm
LOCATION: Stevenage

We're looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join JCA (a part of Mitie) who will maintain accurate purchase ledger records in line with JCA accounting standards and support the wider finance team.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accurate purchase ledger records as per JCA accounting standards and timetable
2. Assist in maintaining treasury operations, maintaining standards and escalating where appropriate
3. Collaborate with the finance team by providing help and coverage during busy month-end periods
4. Accurate and timely processing of purchase ledger invoices
5. Ensure invoices are approved according to the company authority matrix
6. Deal with supplier queries
7. Liaise with business stakeholders to resolve invoice queries and ensure timely approval
8. Monthly reconciliation of supplier accounts
9. Provide cover for the Purchase Ledger Supervisor, including weekly pay run and CIS
10. Produce ad‑hoc reporting and provide support to business stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
11. Minimum of 2 years' previous purchase ledger experience
12. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
13. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
14. Good communication skills and confident telephone manner
15. Basic Excel knowledge
16. Effective time management
17. Ability to think ahead, plan, and prioritise workload
18. Ability to work as part of a team
19. Ability to build professional working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
20. A positive approach with determination to succeed
21. Industry-specific knowledge in Engineering or Building Services
22. Previous experience with Pegasus Opera Accounting Software and Microsoft Dynamics
23. Knowledge of CIS
