The role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor working within the Inverclyde HSCP Children & Families Health Visiting Team. The role focuses on delivering a highquality, safe, and effective community health visiting service aligned with the GIRFEC framework. You will manage a health visiting caseload, ensure robust assessment and referral processes, and implement evidencebased interventions in partnership with families and multiagency teams.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
1. Permanent, 2 post split hours
2. Location: Inverclyde HSCP, Children & Families Health Visiting Team
3. Work Pattern: Monday Friday, 8.30 am 4.30 pm
Key responsibilities:
4. Provide a highquality health visiting service in the community.
5. Manage and supervise a defined caseload, ensuring safe and effective care.
6. Conduct robust assessments and make appropriate referrals.
7. Use evidencebased practice to address identified needs.
8. Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support children and families.
9. Apply indepth knowledge of child protection and the GIRFEC/National Practice Model.
10. Offer professional advice in multiagency settings, prioritising child safety.
11. Lead discussions and make decisions in complex situations.
12. Develop and implement policies, procedures, service standards, and improvements.
13. Maintain ongoing professional development.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
14. Registered nurse or midwife at degree level (or equivalent).
15. Postregistration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing (Part 3 NMC register).
16. Educated to Masters level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge (e.g., NES modules in Assessment, Leadership, Critical Thinking).
17. Strong understanding of legislation related to information sharing, data storage, and public protection.
18. Knowledge of safeguarding, early intervention, and protection pathways.
19. Skills in caseload management, strengthbased practice, risk management, and critical decisionmaking.
20. Ability to use assessment tools to determine referral pathways.
21. Commitment to continuous learning and development.
