Location: This role is based in either London or Milton Keynes. It is a full-time opportunity, and flexible working patterns will be considered. For Quadrant: MK, you must live within 90 minutes of the office or be willing to self-relocate.
Band & Salary: (Band 2B) £71,163 - £81,661 per annum. Please note, any salary offered will be within the advertised range and depend on experience.
Who are we looking for?
We are recruiting for an exciting programme supporting Network Rail and the industry in developing and deploying innovative trials to improve railway services. This includes stations, operations control, train performance management, timetable planning, and more.
Working with a team of systems thinking improvement experts, your role will be to support the senior programme manager by managing the portfolio, acting as PMO across interventions, supporting business case development, and procurement.
About the role
What does the average day look like?
You will actively drive transformation programmes using Systems Thinking methodology, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and deliverables, and monitor progress against budgets and timelines. You will engage regularly with Functional Directors, Executive Directors, and senior stakeholders to foster strong relationships for successful programme outcomes.
Daily tasks include analysing programme performance, tracking benefits, detailed planning, monitoring milestones, managing resources, and proactively managing risks and issues. You will establish governance structures, oversee programme reporting, and coordinate cross-functional virtual teams to deliver strategic priorities and drive impactful change.
Key requirements include:
* Proven experience managing major, complex change and transformation programmes
* Experience influencing senior stakeholders
* Ability to work with industry stakeholders to understand requirements
* Knowledge of programme and project controls processes and systems
* Experience in contract and supplier management
* Experience applying multiple project methodologies in change projects
* Experience in team management and development
* Knowledge of business improvement and change management approaches
* Completion of ‘Managing Successful Programmes’ training
* Understanding of investment processes and procedures
* Experience with continuous improvement, establishing PMO, and agile methodologies is advantageous
