Job title: Family Group worker – Maternity Cover

Place of work: Home-Start Birmingham Central And South-West Hybrid- Office, 146 Hagley Road, Birmingham, B16 9NX and Local Family hubs/ community buildings.
We are looking to recruit a proactive and experienced group worker to support our Family Support Charity during a colleague's maternity leave.
Main Purposes of the job
The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.
Closing date is Friday 27th February 2026.
· Working face to face with families with children under five.
· Planning and organising group themes and activities.
· Contacting families to invite to the group.
· Facilitating several groups per week, including setting up, modelling play, packing away and preparing resources needed for the session.
· Recording notes on family records following the group.
· Evaluating group sessions
· Writing case studies to feed back to funders
· Communicate with Senior/Family and Volunteer coordinator should families need additional support i.e referring to other services.
· To ensure inclusion and diversity in all aspects of the work.
· Ensuring reporting procedures are accurate and up to date
· Help to safeguard children who may be of risk of harm, neglect or abuse.
· Adhere to all policies and processes
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
