M/LK Education Search is working with an ‘Outstanding’ Independent Special School in London who wish to appoint a confident, passionate ABA Supervisor for April 2024 (or as soon as possible).
The school is an inclusive co-educational provision for children with Autism aged between 5 and 16 years and is split across two sites. Each pupil receives an individually devised programme based on a pupil centred, multi professional approach to learning, aimed at increasing communication and independence. This is a rare chance for a committed ABA specialist to join an 'Outstanding' provision and pair with a supportive CEO and SLT to grow and develop the offering which currently supports children from 17 Local Authorities.
Job Purpose
The ABA Supervisor will:
have management responsibility for a team of 6 ABA Tutors as well as a class of 6 pupils, all of Primary age.
use and develop knowledge and understanding of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and/or Verbal Behaviour (VB) approaches and methodology
ensure that personal knowledge of ABA/VB is kept up to date, and shared with relevant staff.
ensure that the ethos reflects the agreed aims, principles of learning and the policy on equal oppo, thereby promoting the general progress and wellbeing of each pupil and adult.
General Duties
Always maintain the safeguarding and well-being of pupils
Be aware of and comply with all school policies and procedures including those relating to pupil protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality, taking responsibility for one’s own health.
Be aware of and ensure that all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the school.
Maintain constructive relationships with staff, parents/carers, and external bodies.
Actively participate in staff meetings and staff training sessions
Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Headteacher.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disorders.
Strong understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis principles and techniques.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
