Residence Manager
We are seeking a Residence Manager to lead the operations of a modern, purpose-built student accommodation scheme comprising 474 en-suite and studio bedrooms in the University district of Leeds.
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring residents receive an exceptional experience while delivering cost-effective facilities and maintenance services.
Role Outline
• Lead, manage, and motivate the on-site team to deliver high-quality service.
• Oversee health & safety compliance, data protection, and adherence to current legislation.
• Manage partnership agreements with external organisations and meet all agreed KPIs and SLAs.
• Ensure communal areas are presented to a high standard and manage resident relations including complaints and pastoral issues.
• Drive the lettings cycle to achieve maximum occupancy, including marketing, viewings, inspections, tenancy agreements, and rent management.
• Prepare reports on lettings, rent, and resident issues.
• Manage facilities and maintenance operations, including utilities, waste, security, and cleaning contracts.
• Oversee statutory inspections, testing programmes, and associated reporting.
• Maintain relationships with local emergency services and partner institutions.
• Manage minor works, planned and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and conduct risk assessments.
• Resolve complex maintenance defects and manage contractors.
Key Requirements
• Experience in student accommodation, university halls, or hospitality sectors.
• Ideal for someone currently in an Assistant Manager role looking for the next step.
• Facilities management experience advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Highly customer-focused, self-motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure.
Hours of Work
• Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm / 9am – 6pm.
• 1 in 4 Saturdays, with time off in lieu.
• Additional hours may be required during peak periods.
