The opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Construction Underwriter to join our well-established team based out of our Birmingham office. Working predominantly with regional and global brokers, the ideal candidate will provide underwriting expertise and first-class service to brokers and customers, with a proven track record of delivering profitable growth, managing complex portfolios, building strong business relationships, and meeting business objectives.

What will you be doing?
You will work with your team, report to a Business Manager, and interact daily with brokers and intermediaries. You will provide a standout service experience, deliver quality and timely solutions, take ownership of your workload, support colleagues, and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop profitable business with Construction brokers & customers.
* Manage client and broker relationships, interacting with risk managers.
* Oversee service proposition on key broker accounts.
* Underwrite and negotiate insurance contracts.
* Demonstrate knowledge of systems, products, processes, and procedures to provide first-class customer experiences.
* Engage in self-development, coaching, and promote continuous improvement.
* Contribute to a positive team culture.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you are an experienced Construction Underwriter seeking a new challenge at a large, global insurer. Experience with CAR, Public/Products Liability, and Employers Liability insurance programs is beneficial. Strong communication and influencing skills are required, along with industry trend knowledge. CII qualifications or progress toward them are expected.
